Terre Haute, Indiana, and Griffin Bike Park have been on our to-do list for some time. Finally we booked a site at Shakamak State Park, south of Terre Haute. This is the start of three weekends in a row camping before heading back to school! Shakamak State Park offers a number of trails, three lakes for boating and fishing, a swimming pool with water slides, a nature center, a camp store, schedule activities, and a large, shady campground. We grabbed the last site available, which seems to be a theme this summer. We rode our bikes through the park and to the pool. The pool was packed but still a nice way to spend a hot July afternoon. After the pool, we drove into Terre Haute for a great dinner at Umi Grill.
As we grew used to with the Cricket, the Mantis also attracts a crowd. We had two very nice groups stop at the same time to check out the Mantis and ask questions. We’ve enrolled in the TAXA Ambassador Program and are going to start making referrals to earn TAXA merch! Update on our roof leaking issue, TAXA is helping us with a solution and is sending us instructions, videos, and a repair kit for the ‘Mantis Water Infiltration Repairs’. We’ve been in regular communication via phone and email and we are confident they will help us get the Mantis water-tight. We were given the option of working with a dealer they recommend or doing the work ourselves. We think we can do the work and appreciate their flexibility in giving us options. We may share a post detailing the project.
