Prizer Point is a KOA Resort located on Lake Barkley in Kentucky. We visited on the last weekend before school with a group of friends. We planned to stay at the campground for the full weekend. Because our friends were in cabins, we paid $20 extra to lock in our site near them. The location was handy, but the site was odd and a bit in the way. The site was between several cabins and a parking lot for the cabins. Our site was large gravel topped with dozens of cigarette butts and weeds. If not for the location, we would have been very disappointed. There are many better campsites thoughout the park with water access, great views and some privacy. We just chose poorly and paid extra to do so.
We took full advantage of the amenities. We swam in both the regular and retractable-roof pool, races the pedal cars, played four-way ping pong and gaga ball, and jumped on the bounce pillow. There was also outdoor movies, playgrounds, a soccer field, hay rides, boat rentals, and a full marina with a restaurant. We paid extra to visit Prizer Lagoon. The Lagoon offered a Wibit course on the lake, a ropes course, a zip line course, peddle boats, and paddle boards. The Lagoon was a big hit for our group. It was a bit over-priced. We paid $35 a person for all of the amenities, which is about three hours of entertainment. You can also purchase individually. This was the smallest and most expensive Wibit experience we’ve had. It was still fun, but the pricing model isn’t great. We bought a friend on the trip and managed to sleep five in the Mantis, with Mitchell on the floor on a camp mat. This was snug, but it worked for two nights. Aside from being disappointed with our site, we will certainly return. The staff was great, location was beautiful, and the amenities were fun. We think this could be a great fall weekend escape.
