Dogwood Valley Jellystone is located about 45 minutes north of Columbus, OH and two hours south of Cleveland. We booked a large gravel water and electric site. We were surprised that about 50% of the park was seasonal sites. However, arriving on a Monday, the seasonal section was nearly empty and the non-seasonal sites were maybe 50% booked. So we had minimal crowds to share amenities. We had a lot of rain Monday night and Tuesday morning, but spent the rest of the time enjoying the amenities. The primary amenity we enjoyed was the Wibit, a floating obstacle course anchored in the middle of the lake. The kids found other kids and played tag, elimination, and the water is lava. They spent hours playing on the Wibit in 60-something degree lake water. The Jellystone also had two water slides, two pools, a playground, three gaga ball pits, basketball, camp store, hayrides and train rides (which were closed each day we were there due to the weather), paddle boats, canoes, corcles, a wigwag boat, fishing, as well as a full activities schedule.
The rain Monday night and Tuesday morning was substantial. The river running past the Jellystone flooded and was within inches of covering the road. The heavy rain beat up the Mantis too. We had a plastic tote and three coffee mugs catching water leaking into the camper. While we know this amount of rain was excessive, we again spoke with TAXA Outdoors and submitted pictures for their team to review. We are awaiting their recommended solutions. Although the weather didn’t fully cooperate at the Jellystone, we had enough good weather that the kids had a great time enjoying the amenities of the park.
