We had fun taking part in so much the park offered. Between our site and our friend’s cabin was a hiking trail down to a seasonal creek. The gaga ball court had a crowd until it was dark with a cloud of dust hanging over the game. The two jumping pillows were a hit as they always are. The kids also had a great time on the pedal race carts, racing around the park. That evening we enjoyed an outdoor movie.
Hands down the standout attraction was the water features. The main water area was a couple slides with a dump bucket and other fun features. The second pool was a littler kids pool and splash pad. Finally the third was a standard pool. The kids loved the main pool, and we spent a healthy percentage of the weekend here. We took a break from the campground to go into Bloomington. We walked around downtown, hit the bookstore, outfitter, grocery co-op, and went for lunch at Upland Brew Pub. Upland is our favorite spot in Bloomington. In fact, we've been to Bloomington twice and eaten at Upland four times. To be fair, we haven’t explored a lot, but Upland is always great. Fireworks were canceled and the Jellystone was offering a video firework experience. We passed on this and instead watched the distant fireworks from those celebrating on nearby Lake Monroe. A different feel for the holiday, but we were happy to be able to safely travel and enjoy time at the campground.
